It’s been over a year since we’ve premiered “Suor Noturno”, the fifth track of the debut album by Ricardo Remédio, “Natureza Morta”. Today, the wait is over and we are proud to have the full record exclusively available for stream before its official release on October 3, via Dissociated Records, a Signal Rex subsidiary. Known for his electronic infused doom outfit Löbo, which has recently returned to activity, and for the dark electronics of RA, “Natureza Morta” marks the first time Ricardo Remédio releases a record under his own name, also displaying a rather mature sound when compared to his earlier forays into the genre, creating an engulfing tapestry of electronic music with industrial overtones and soothing atmospheres, albeit without either taking over the compositions – it’s fitting, really, that its release comes quite close to the new WIFE EP, “Standard Nature”, as they go quite well together.
“Natureza Morta” marks yet another collaboration between the Portuguese musician and an illustrious name, after the series of remixes that RA‘s Rancor undertook at the hands of JK Flesh and Necro Deathmort to name a few. This time, the one and only Daniel O´Sullivan has joined Ricardo Remédio on production. Finally, it’s worth highlighting the unique package the record is set come in. Besides the digital and 12” vinyl formats, both the USB skull displayed behind the title of this piece and its version encased in a pyramid displayed above will both be available in editions respectively limited to 45 and 25 copies. The skull itself and parts of the pyramid casing are made of 3D printed glow-in-the-dark PLA filaments, a biodegradable material produced from renewable sources. In other words, that which you can and should stream below will be available in a sustainable and unique packaging.
Mere days after the official release date of October 3, Ricardo Remédio is set to open for Nothing, in both their Lisbon and Porto appearances respectively scheduled for the 7th and the 8th.
