Cobalt has got to be one of the most intriguing bands to have ever emerged from the North American black metal scene and after a seven-year hiatus their new album “Slow Forever” is almost upon us. One of its songs was premiered today by Stereogum and is an animalistic exercise that will ferociously twist and rip inside your head for about eleven minutes. It’s called “Final Will” and if it serves as any indication of what Wunder and Fell have in stores for us on March 18, it might very well be one of the great records of the year. Listen to it here and, while you’re at it, might as well read the amazing text written by Michael Nelson alongside it – shouldn’t take you more than the song’s length and is definitely worth it.
“Slow Forever” comes out via Profound Lore on March 18.
