It’s quite interesting to notice how the colossal pipe organ is finding its way back into modern music. Lychgate did an impressive and heavy job with it in “An Antidote For The Glass Pill” and now Anna Von Hausswolff creates a requiem for “The Miraculous”, her newest studio effort. It’s halfway between nightmarish and salvific, hellish and ecclesiastic, medieval but plenty suited for a Guggenheim installation due to its post-rock-post-ambient contemporariness. A whispering representation of solitude.
