Well, it took a month of 2016 to get the first Damien Master / Colloquial Sound record out, although true to his prolific nature, the North American went directly with four of them in one day. As luck would have it, this batch is specially suited to fans of the harsher side of all things Colloquial Sound, as there’s no APL but a ton of piss and vinegar to throw First, there’s “Rubber Room”, the third
First, there’s “Rubber Room”, the third Aksumite LP where they of all things decide to go all heavy/speed metal amidst the usual punkish black metal.
“In the spirit of sex, death, dark and rabbits” was the tagline of the first Secret Creation demo “Holding My Carrot”, a horrific incursion into avant garde black metal territory. The rabbit theme carries on in “Bye Bye Bunny”, a second short demo lasting less than 10 minutes where somehow avant-garde, thrash and punk all make their way into the band’s black metal. Enjoy the weirdness.
Last year’s self-titled demo was the debut for Touch_Screen, a black/punk duo joining DM and Trey Steketee. They now follow it up with “Click”, another short (less than five minutes long) discharge of angry black and punk.
Speaking of projects debuting last year, remember Prison Suicide’s self-titled LP? That shit was sweet. The new “2016 Demo” is a good excuse as any to go revisit that record and pretty effective in its brief duration.
